Moving to Google compute engine (GCE) from AWS

I’ve been using Amazon Web Services from many years, AWS infra is a complete pack of tools and services required to power the applications. Why moving then?

I’ve experienced Google infrastructure when I worked inside Google maps project, especially the Google borg infrastructure and the way it handles builds, load balancing and dynamic resource allocation. It’s easy, robust and scalable.

So, we’ve started exploring GCE to host one of our new application that we are planning to launch soon, I could feel the similarities between borg and Google cluster management systems and experienced the scalability and easiness to use.

I would recommend people to explore Google cloud services, they are really robust.

Soon I’ll share a detailed article to know how to manage containers using GKE (Google container engine) inside Google compute engine.
